Film History Documentary: The Soundscape of Sinophone (听野: 译意风, 2023)

Between 1939 and 1951, Sinophones (译意风, yiyifeng) were introduced to Chinese cinema theaters to provide live translation and sensory entertainment during foreign language films. My film explores the historical phenomenon of using headphones in the theater.

Drama: The Taste of Cloud (棉花云, 2022)

After years of friendship with those Tibetan girls, I made a drama short film based on their real story. Supervised by Pema Tsedem (1969-2023), this is my first attempt to produce a Tibetan language film.

Éric Rohmer (1920-2010), the leading figure in French New Wave. I enjoyed watching his movies for the way he makes every character thinks and talks in a philosophical way. Moreover, the French style he put off in his movies is simply pleasant to watch.

Documentary: Postcard from Tibet (深蓝心事, 2020)

Beijing Shengji Art School is a charity school for Tibetan orphan kids. In this film, I stayed with three girls from this school for three years, witnessing their life's ups and downs.

This video is dedicated to Pema Tsedem (万玛才旦, 1969-2023), the leading figure in the Tibetan New Wave. In this video, I looked back on his every movie in a chronological way.
